Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a death investigator here in the south? Lucky for you, Joseph S. Morgan, NGCSU Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice and Forensics, is about to release a book that discusses that very topic and more.

In his memoir, Blood Beneath My Feet, Morgan talks about his experiences working as a southern death investigator and the vast array of trials, tribulations, and emotions that come with the job. Morgan’s website, found here, contains interviews with the author, tour dates and times, and even free page samples.

When a book dares to ask you the question, “Have you ever been locked in a cooler with piles of decomposing humans for so long that you had to shave all the hair off your body in order to get rid of the smell?” and then follows with the statement, “Joseph Scott Morgan did,” how could you not want to read it?

Blood Beneath My Feet will be hitting shelves on Saturday July 7 at the Hall Book Exchange. For more info on the Hall Book Exchange, including directions and hours of operation, be sure to visit their website. When students return to campus for fall classes, the bookstore plans to hold book signings later in the semester. In the meantime, Morgan plans to do his fair share of touring across the nation to promote his memoir.
