Hello. My name is Heather Bretschneider, I live in Gainesville, GA with my wonderful boyfriend Brian and our amazing 9 month old twins, Owen and Olivia. I have traveled and lived in many places including Indiana, Florida, and California, and while the traveling bug will never leave me, I am proud to call Georgia my home. For diversion, I love to cook and learn new dishes, and I make some crafts, especially jewelry, crochet, and ultra-bizarre art pieces when the fancy strikes. I have always loved learning and language, and have been a reader since before memory began. I am a non-traditional student here at the newly minted University of North Georgia, a senior majoring in English with a concentration in Writing and Publication and minoring in Sociology. I will graduate this fall and am planning to enter the Master’s program in Publishing that UNG is slated to offer beginning in the spring of 2014. I am looking forward to working at the University Press under Dr. Bonnie Robinson, who has been my professor, my adviser, and now my mentor, and I cannot wait to learn anything I can from her expertise. I am excited about the digital direction the University Press is taking and hope to work on some projects involving digital publications and open access texts. I am also interested in fostering international connections and growing the Press into a global concern in academic publishing. If that interest takes me to a foreign country every now and again, well, let’s just say I won’t complain.
