In anticipation of our soon-to-be-released publication titled From Surface to Meaning: Exploring the Use of Color in History, Politics, and Art, we have provided an abstract of one of the papers chosen for inclusion in this volume as well as a short biography of the author. From Surface to Meaning: Exploring the Use of Color in History, Politics, and Art is a volume of papers which focuses on the appearance of color and its meaning throughout history and across cultures. Color is easily dismissed as a surface quality, but the meanings attached to it offer us an insight into how people have made sense of their collective existence in a certain time and space. If you have any questions about From Surface to Meaning: Exploring the Use of Color in History, Politics, and Art, please email us at upng@ung.edu. We hope you enjoy this preview!
