My name is Tameema Ahmed, and I am a senior at University of North Georgia. I am majoring in Psychology with minors in English and Arabic. Being an avid reader since childhood, I have naturally been inclined towards languages and the written word. Working at a press is ideal for me, as I am going to be surrounded by the world of grammar and literature. Whether it is by editing or marketing or writing itself, I feel that working as an editor/publisher would allow me to engage in tasks that are deeply rooted in my passion for English. I am also greatly interested in visual arts, and publishing companies can provide an outlet for that with cover art opportunities.

I was born in Karachi, Pakistan and moved to Georgia when I was 5. I have lived in Dawsonville for the past 12 years. Other than working at a publishing company, I can see myself in a variety of careers. I taught Art at as small private elementary school last year, and it was a wonderful experience. I enjoy working with children a great deal, so that is another possible career for me. With my Arabic and English minors, I can also see myself teaching either language abroad and consequently, getting to travel the world, which happens to be a dream of mine. Also, with my psychology degree, I can see myself working with children in need of therapy. To help these children, I could combine my love of art with psychology and offer art therapy as well.

Spirituality means a great deal to me, and I find great solace in nature. There are few things more pleasing than a vibrant sunset or a windy day. The earth has much to offer us in terms of beauty and it is foolish of us not to take advantage of it at any given opportunity!
