The first month of 2020 is finished. Are you surviving? Are you thriving? (It’s okay if you’re not.) January is a busy time and New Year resolutions are quickly pushed to the side while we handle life.
It’s a very busy time of year for the Press, so my personal reading took a back burner. I never realized how tedious reading could be until I was an editor. After hour seven, words start to seem fake, so going home to read even more is sometimes a planned effort. I wasn’t able to start my January read until last week!
I’ve chosen to read a book by a local author for my first prompt. I’m reading The Palms by Clay Anderson. Anderson runs an indie bookshop in Dahlonega, Bear Book Market. Because of my slow start, I’m definitely not finished. Does this mean I failed the challenge?
Not at all! I know that sometime I finish a book in a day and sometimes it takes months. It’s okay. I’m reading and enjoying myself, and that’s all that matters.

I came across this post 6 months into the year and with the Corona issue, it has been a breezy year in terms of books I’ve been able to read. While I’ve not read any of the recent books, I was able to go through many of the all-time classics once again.
I will now visit the prompt list and hope to catch up on some of the newer books!
