University of North Georgia Press Joins Association of the U.S. Army Book Program

The University of North Georgia Press is the leading press in Georgia for producing Open Educational Resources and Open Textbooks.

Dahlonega, GA—The University of North Georgia (UNG) Press has partnered with the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA) Book Program to collect and publish military-themed works. As an AUSA Book Program partner, the UNG Press will aid AUSA’s educational mission by producing high-quality books to be designated as “AUSA Books.” These books will address such subjects as military land power and land warfare history, technology, combat, and strategy and tactics. This curated collection will serve to help and educate members of the U.S. Army, the Department of Defense, the AUSA, U.S. government officials, and the general public. To further these goals, AUSA will promote UNG Press’s AUSA Books by linking them to AUSA’s website, listing them in AUSA publications as a member benefit, and reviewing them in ARMY Magazine or other AUSA publications.

UNG is part of the University System of Georgia and is designated as a State Leadership Institution. One of only six federally designated senior military colleges in the nation, the university carries the distinction of The Military College of Georgia and its nationally recognized Army ROTC program attracts students from across the state, region and nation. Through its partnership with Affordable Learning Georgia (ALG) and eCore, the UNG Press is the leading press in Georgia for producing Open Educational Resources and Open Textbooks, saving students over 12 million dollars.

The AUSA Book Program offers quality books about Army heritage, military theory and policy, and security in the modern world. AUSA will sponsor and act as agent for books concerning topics of interest for and about the Army, and it welcomes proposals from prospective authors.
