Year of the Books Chat: July

This month, I decided to complete the prompt “a book about time travel” by rereading an old favorite: A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L’Engle. The first book in the Time Quintet, Meg, Charles, and Calvin use a tesseract to travel through time and space to save the world from evil.

During tumultuous times, it’s nice to sit back and read something familiar. There are so many new and changing things going on in the world. Rereading a favorite book can help ground us against the chaos. I don’t know what’s going to happen around me, but in the book, I know good will triumph evil and that all will be well.

Time travel has fascinated writers throughout history, from early Arabic literature to modern-day founders of science fiction like Octavia Butler. Take time to read about time travel today. It’s okay to disappear from the present for a moment.
