We’re bursting with excitement as we count down to UNG Best Day Ever‘s launch at the Starlight Celebration and Fireworks this Saturday, August 28th. Written by UNG president Dr. Bonita Jacobs and Dr. Richard Oates, vice president of the Gainesville campus, this charming picture book will be a favorite on alumni family bookshelves.
Today, we’re sharing an inside peek at the artwork and characters, illustrated by J’Nelle Short. Meet Ana Green and her family, who spend the day exploring downtown Gainesville and the UNG campus as they prepare for the Starlight Celebration. Visit familiar landmarks, including the Engine 209 Park, historic Green Street, the Chicopee Woods Bridge Loop, and the university’s outdoor amphitheater. An excerpt and complete list of the places found in the picture book are included in the sample.
